WWT is celebrating all things dragonflies with our brand new Dragonfly Festival this summer. As part of this, join local dragonfly David Chandler on one of our workshops at Welney for an introduction to dragonfly and damselfly identification.
Dates:
Tues 24 June
Thurs 26 June
Sat 5 July
Start in our pond room, where David will introduce you to dragonflies and damselflies. Before taking you out on a guided walk to spot some of the species that call our Welney wetlands home.
Things to bring:
Close-focus binoculars or a digital camera which can be used to spot dragonflies at short distances to see identification features.
Notepad and pencil if you find taking notes helpful for learning.
David will have a supply of his book A Beginners Guide to Dragonflies and Damselflies with him, available to buy (£8.50). This pocket-sized field guide is perfect to use while you are learning.
