Block Printing workshop with Sue Welfare
Suitable for beginners or experienced hands. Perfect workshop to develop your skills in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Satrt by practicing techniques with commercial blocks to create beautiful, custom wrapping paper. Moving on to fabric later. Chance to design and carve own printing block, to take home and use again and again.
The day involves:
9.30am WWT Welney opens to the public
10am arrival and welcome in our Pond Room
10.05-10.55am Guided walk around WWT Welney
11am Begin workshop with Sue in Pond Room (refreshments available)
1pm Lunch provided in room
Finish between 3.30/4pm
Cafe open until 4.30pm
WWT Welney open until 5pm
What's included:
All specialist materials, tools, support and guidance. Premade tote bags and tea towels for printing.
What to bring:
Any paper or fabric you'd like to experiment with (fabric should be natural, like cotton).
Old clothes to wear or an apron. Feel free to bring inspirational images or ideas - or be inspired during the morning guided walk.
Accessibility
The guided walk route is wheelchair and mobility scooter accessible. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters are free to use upon entry, you can call ahead of your visit if you would like to reserve one - 01353 860711.
