Family Bat & Biscuit Night
Discover more about the amazing nocturnal world of bats with an evening family-friendly bat talk & walk at WWT Washington.
Start the night with a hot chocolate or juice and a bat themed biscuit while our team tell you all about British bat species with a show-and-tell activity, before we head out for an evening walk to Hollowood and the reservoir. We'll search for bats using hand-held bat detectors to pick up the presence of different species and see what else we can see along the way.
Dates and times:
Friday 4 September, 7:30pm (sunset 8:15pm)
Friday 11 September, 7:15pm (sunset 8:01pm)
Friday 18 September, 7:00pm (sunset 7:48pm)
*This event is approximately 2-2.5 hours long in total
Cost: £12 per person (members and non-members). After-hours admission to WWT Washington Wetland Centre is included as part of this event - visitors vising throughout the day will need to purchase admission separately - please note we cannot allow visitors to walk around site before the bat walk starts.
Recommended for: Ages 4+
What's included in my ticket: Evening admission, 1x drink, 1x bat biscuit + walk & talk with a guide where you will listen to bats on a bat detector.
What you'll need: Please bring a torch along with you and wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
